Project of Distinction Award
Seminar II: The Evergreen State College The jury was struck by how well this facility integrated with the forest environment of the campus. Every occupied space has a view of the landscaping - including the lecture hall. The environmental connection is further emphasized with a large amount of controlled daylight, fresh air ventilation and green roofs. The project made excellent application of LEED's elements and is seeking Gold certification. The building's programmatic components are based upon an integrated multidisciplinary academic model with a variety of flexible spaces to accommodate changing academic programs.
