CEFPI ANNOUNCES WASHINGTON, DC AREA OFFICE

WASHINGTON, DC, USA — The Council of Educational Facilities Planners International (CEFPI) opened a new office in Arlington, Virginia, which is located within the "Beltway" of the Washington DC area. This office is the result of CEFPI's continuing effort to expand its presence in the DC area, strengthening relationships with U.S. governmental entities as well as DC-based private and public organizations and affiliated associations that serve the education market and allied sectors.

CEFPI President Merle Kirkley, REFP said; "With the establishment of a permanent Washington DC presence, CEFPI can bridge the gap that has existed in the organization for many years, becoming a stronger voice on the national education scene."

This is the Council's first foray into opening a new office outside its current headquarters in Scottsdale, AZ.

"We have worked hard this past year to re-establish CEFPI as a viable player on both the national and international level; this office is a logical step in continuing our move towards excellence as an organization," Kirkley added.

According to Executive Director/CEO John K. Ramsey, CAE, "We will use our DC office to champion the school building industry with our partners, funding agents and those on Capitol Hill. The new location will also provide our members with access to association services, technologies, contractors and other resources that are exclusive to the DC area."

The new office will initially enable executive and policy staff members to conduct business while in DC and eventually will house the CEFPI staff members in policy-oriented and some operational positions. The new office is located at 1110 N. Glebe, Suite 580, Arlington, VA.

The Council of Educational Facility Planners International (CEFPI) is the only professional organization whose principal purpose is improving the places where children learn. CEFPI embraces a diverse group of professionals with one single goal - building healthy, safe, high performance and sustainable learning environments that enhance student and teacher performance and support culture and community vitality.
