Welcome to CEFPI's e-Groups (Listserv) – automated e-mail discussion groups designed for interactive
discussions with your peers. Our Listserv is designed to improve communication among like-minded members,
offer a forum for exchanging ideas, and allow you to benefit from the experience, knowledge, and wisdom of
your peers.
To participate in CEFPI's e-Groups you must subscribe to the list.

Rules & Etiquette
First-time Users
If this is the first time you are logging onto this LISTSERV server, you will need to create a password for
yourself. For first-time users, it is recommended that you print out these instructions.
- Click
here to get started.
- Type in your e-mail address in the top box.
- Type in a password – anything you will remember, made up of letters and numbers, but do not
include any spaces (hitting the space bar) or symbols such as “#” or “%”. Use a password that cannot be
easily guessed. Passwords must have a minimum of five (5) characters.
- Re-type your password in the verification box.
- Click the button Register Password.
- You will then see a screen that says "Confirmation E-Mailed".
Check your e-mail and simply click on the url contained to activate.
- To subscribe now, click on the list name and follow the instructions below.
Subscribing/Joining an E-mail List
Members of CEFPI's e-Group with e-mail and Web access can participate in the e-mail lists.
You can join a list, change your settings, and search the archives on the Web.
- Once you are logged
in, click the list name.
- A new screen will appear with the name of the list selected.
- Click on the link Join or Leave.
- Set your subscription type:
Regular = receive messages as they are contributed
Digest = receive one daily message with all the contributions for that day
Index = receive one daily message with only the subject lines for that day
No Mail = receive no mail from this mailing list (great for when you are on extended
leave or vacation, and this option still allows you access to the list archives)
- Click the Join button at the bottom of the page.
You'll receive a confirmation notice and instructions on how to use the e-mail forum once you have been added
to the list (you might want to save this e-mail for future reference).
To prevent viruses from infiltrating the lists, only plain-text e-mails are allowed to be posted to the
Listserv (i.e., no HTML text and no attachments).
NOTE: These are basic instructions for accessing CEFPI's e-Group list. There are many options and settings
that you can change.
If you are new to LISTSERV, you can set your Preference Mode from Basic, Expert or Tutorial Mode, by clicking
the link in the upper right of the screen. Tutorial Mode will display help on how to manage your list and
settings.

Sending a Message
- To post a new message, click the list name, then click Post a New Message.
- To reply to messages you receive from CEFPI's e-Groups, be sure that the send-to address appears
as "name of list"@group.cefpi.org.
- Avoid resending the entire message to which you are replying by cutting and pasting the relevant parts
into your response. And, please do not resend a digest back to the e-mail list.
- Using the reply button in your e-mail application will automatically send your response to the entire
list. To reply directly to a member of the list, forward the e-mail and copy and paste his or her e-mail
address into the "To" line. Use this method as well, if you need to send an attachment to an individual.
- Identify yourself with a signature tag in all messages. Include your name, association, location,
telephone number, and e-mail address.
