| Dear Northeast Region 2010 Conference Attendees,
 As I reminisce about the challenges of 2009 I truly appreciate the family, friends and acquaintances that I was able to turn to during some of the struggles of the year. Many of those friends and acquaintances are members of this great Region of CEFPI. This organization attracts people with incredible ideas but it also attracts people who truly enjoy being together. It stimulates great conversation and allows us to continue our intellectual pursuits while having the chance to socialize. Most importantly it provides a chance to laugh with each other!
I can't help but think that all of us are thinking positively with an eye towards a bright future. We continue the advance of our careers, our relationships and our pursuit of the betterment of environments for children. For that reason we welcome 2010 Regional Conference attendees to the great City of Philadelphia. The city originally at the epicenter of the founding of our great nation will serve as the foundation for the presentation of emerging ideas in the educational planning field. We think we have a great couple of days arranged for you combining intense learning opportunities with great fun.
This year we have reorganized the conference plan. Rather than several straight days of seminars we are taking the conference out to locations throughout Philadelphia on Thursday to experience firsthand, spaces where unique learning opportunities occur. That sets the scene for refreshing seminars held Friday where we expect conversation to evolve from the prior day's site visits. Friday's intense conversation will culminate an evening at the World Series Champion Phillies where attendees can relax, unwind and enjoy the time with the many colleagues with whom you've shared the trials and tribulations of the last year. To wrap the conference up an REFP session will be held on Saturday developed around a topic that we believe you will find very stimulating.
So, welcome to the beginning of the next era of prosperity and positive intellectual thought focused on our children. Welcome to the original city of brotherly love and to the conference where we will renew, refresh and re-orient! Welcome to Philadelphia!
