Chapter Mission
The commitment of the professional membership has been the key to the success of CEFPI. We must now build on this tradition by increasing our membership to include sectors now under-represented within the organization. Increasing membership from the communities we serve to include minorities and urban school personnel.

Topic / Speaker:
Greg Monberg, ACES (Academic Commissioning of Environments for Schools)

Greg Monberg will be sharing his Illinois state wide results of the ACES survey. Are your schools in the Passion zone? How can you know? Do facilities matter? These questions and more will be address as we share the results of the investigation between academic achievement and the perceived quality of the learning environment.

Greg is Director of Design Research for Fanning Howey, one of the largest K-12 school design firms in the United States. He has spent the last 19 years focusing on the planning and design of innovative learning environments. Greg is a passionate advocate for transforming the way we instruct our children and prepare them for the New Economy. In 2011, he was one of several Subject Matter Experts invited to participate in a Facilities for 21st Century Learning design charrette held by the United States Department of Defense Education Activity. He has also presented at School and College Building Expo, VS American Days, and the annual conference of the Council of Educational Facility Planners International. His projects include the new Lake Area High School in New Orleans, Louisiana – one of the first five "Quick Start" schools built in the wake of Hurricane Katrina – and several award-winning elementary schools in the Chicagoland area.
