The Role of Community Partnerships in Education: The literature is clear that parental and community support of schools is correlated with both student and school success. How can we get business and community leaders to understand the key issues facing education rather than believe the rhetoric du jour?

Acclaimed author and public education champion, Jamie Vollmer, has identified the terrible 20 trends that negatively impact public education. How can we help, given our roles with facility planning, to combat these trends?

What ways can facility construction and utilization help foster community support? What are the key issues that we must consider when designing, building, and using schools with partnerships and community support in mind?

Our conference this year will seek to develop a richer understanding of these issues, and how the design of school facilities should evolve as a response.

We are extremely excited to announce that we have secured noted author and champion of public education, Jamie Vollmer, as our keynote speaker. Jamie was a featured speaker at the 2012 CEFPI World Congress on Educational Environments held in San Antonio, Texas.
