TRADE SHOW
CEFPI's International Board of Directors Reception and Trade Show Opening
on Sunday evening, October 7 is the place to be! This event will showcase the latest in equipment, materials, services and systems that shape today's school planning and construction industry. The trade show continues at 10:30 am on Monday with the morning break, lunch and afternoon refreshments served in the exhibit hall. Don't miss the annual Trade Show Drawing that takes place traditionally at the close of the show.
EXHIBITION OF SCHOOL PLANNING AND ARCHITECTURE
Always a highlight of the CEFPI annual conference, this year's competition promises to be even more impressive than in past years. Significant projects designed by the world's leading school architects will be on display throughout the Royal York's conference center. Awards of Distinction for new construction projects and Lighthouse Awards for renovation projects will be presented to those displaying excellence in planning and design. Projects submitted in the concept category meeting the same criteria of excellence will be honored with Design Concept awards.
SCHOOL SITE TOURS
CEFPI's school site tours, Tuesday, October 9, will include some of the most exciting educational facilities in the Toronto area and perhaps in Canada! These exceptional learning spaces are the result of collaborative planning involving architects, administrators, teachers, staff, students and community members. Space is limited on these tours, so sign up early on the conference Web site.
AWARDS LUNCHEON
Please join us on Sunday, October 7 to honor those Council members who have made significant contributions to the organization and the profession. Winners of Architectural Awards, Impact on Learning Awards and CEFPI Service Awards winners will be in the spotlight, as we applaud their outstanding efforts.
IMPACT ON LEARNING AWARDS
School Planning & Management magazine, in collaboration with CEFPI will present the 2007 Impact on Learning Awards to recognize educational facilities that have solved real-world problems through design, engineering and technology solutions. Unlike other design competitions that judge entire school buildings, this unique program focuses on specific solutions to specific design challenges.
2007 Impact on Learning Award winners will be recognized during the annual Awards Luncheon, Sunday, October 7.
ANNUAL BANQUET CELEBRATE OUR FUTURE
Put on your party clothes and join us for a festive evening as we celebrate the Council's many successes of the past year. You will not want to miss the evening's program of entertainment, along with a special conference video – maybe you will see yourself! The prestigious Planner of the Year, MacConnell and Presidents Awards will be presented. This year's event is optional black tie. True to tradition, the Passing of the Gavel caps off the evening as Roy J. Sprague, AIA, CSI, CEFPI president, hands over the Council's gavel to incoming president, Merle J. Kirkley, REFP.
CEFPI FOUNDATION ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT
Support the CEFPI Foundation & Charitable Trust
Join in a benefit tournament for the CEFPI Foundation & Charitable Trust at Glen Abbey Golf Club, 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 9.
Through events like this and your generous contribution to the CEFPI Foundation & Charitable Trust,
we will continue to help foster research and scholarly study.
The CEFPI Foundation & Charitable Trust also funds projects such as the
as the Dale Scheideman Merit Scholarship Program, School Building Week and the Paragon Schoolhouse Project.
This will be a scramble format with a shotgun start. Your entry fee includes greens fee, cart with GPS and real-time scoring, driving range, bag tag and box lunch. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams, men's and women's long drives and closest-to-the-pin. Teams will be handicapped. Hole Sponsors are being sought to support the

FINAL NIGHT CELEBRATION – ACADEMY OF SPHERICAL ARTS
Come join your friend and colleagues and "rack'em-up" at CEFPI's final night! The Academy of Spherical Arts has become one of the hottest venues for in the city. Wonderful wood paneled rooms that showcase art and artifacts and one of the finest collections of antique billiard tables.
The Academy of Spherical Arts occupies 20,000 square feet of the old Brunswick Billiards factory. Built in 1890, the post and beam construction is a warm reminder of a bygone era. The club's high ceilings, art-filled walls and eclectic furniture groupings create a feeling of casual elegance.
The Academy of Spherical Arts strives to make Plato's axiom of the good life its own. As founder of the original academy, Plato suggested Wisdom and Pleasure in appropriate measure. In accordance with this philosophy, the Academy was founded and they assembled the largest collection of Samuel May billiard tables in the world.
